????️ Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
Marital: Jurnal Kajian Hukum Keluarga Islam is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against any publication malpractices. This statement is based on the 16 Core Practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and applies to all parties involved in the act of publishing: the author, the editor-in-chief, the editorial board, the peer reviewers, and the publisher (Islamic Family Law Study Program, Faculty of Sharia and Islamic Law, IAIN Parepare).
???? General Principles
- Integrity: Marital upholds ethical publishing as a foundation for scholarly communication. Any form of plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, and redundant publication is strictly prohibited.
- Originality: Authors affirm that submitted manuscripts are entirely original, have not been published elsewhere (in part or in whole), and are not under consideration elsewhere.
- Transparency: Editors, reviewers, and authors must act with full transparency and disclose any conflicts of interest.

- Publication Decisions
The editor-in-chief has full authority to accept or reject an article based on its scholarly merit, relevance, originality, and compliance with ethical standards. - Fair Play
Editors evaluate submissions based on intellectual content without discrimination of race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnicity, nationality, or political ideology. - Confidentiality
Editors and editorial staff must keep all details of submitted manuscripts confidential. - Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Editors must not use unpublished information in their own research without written consent from the author. - Oversight and Misconduct Handling
Editors must take responsive measures when ethical concerns are raised, including conducting investigations and issuing corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern.

- Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Peer review assists editors in decision-making and helps authors improve their work through constructive feedback. - Promptness
Reviewers who cannot complete a review in time should inform the editor promptly. - Confidentiality
Manuscripts under review must be treated as confidential documents. - Objectivity
Reviews should be objective and constructive, avoiding personal criticism. - Acknowledgement of Sources
Reviewers must point out uncited relevant literature and notify editors of any overlap or plagiarism. - Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Reviewers must declare conflicts of interest and refrain from reviewing if a conflict exists.

- Reporting Standards
Authors must provide an accurate account of the work performed, with sufficient detail and references to allow reproducibility.
- Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure their work is entirely original and appropriately cite or quote others’ work.
- Multiple or Redundant Publication
Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously or publish redundant articles.
- Acknowledgment of Sources
Authors must properly acknowledge the work of others that has influenced their research.
- Authorship
Authorship should be limited to those who contributed significantly. All co-authors must approve the final version and submission. - Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could bias their work.
- Data Access and Retention
Authors should be prepared to provide raw data for editorial review and retain such data after publication.
- Fundamental Errors in Published Works
Authors are obliged to inform the journal editor or publisher if they discover a significant error in their work.
????️ Publisher’s Responsibilities
The publisher (IAIN Parepare) ensures that editorial decisions are free from the influence of advertising, reprint, or other commercial interests. The publisher supports editors in addressing ethical concerns and in promoting editorial best practices, as advised by COPE.
