Plagiarism

Indonesian Journal of Islamic Counseling (IJIC) upholds a strict policy against plagiarism. Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable and considered a serious ethical violation. All submitted manuscripts will be screened for originality using Turnitin plagiarism detection software prior to peer review.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

  • Copying others' work without proper citation.

  • Paraphrasing substantial parts of another's work without acknowledgment.

  • Claiming results from others' research as one's own.

  • Self-plagiarism (republishing one's own previously published work without proper citation or disclosure).

Screening Process

  • All submitted manuscripts are checked for similarity using Turnitin.

  • Manuscripts with a similarity index above 20% (excluding references, quotations, and method descriptions) will be returned to the author for revision or rejected outright.

  • Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts are free of plagiarism and properly cite all sources.

Actions Against Plagiarism

If plagiarism is detected during the peer-review process or after publication:

  • The manuscript may be rejected immediately.

  • If already published, the article may be retracted.

  • Authors may be blacklisted from future submissions.

  • Institutions and funding agencies may be informed, if necessary.

IJIC is committed to promoting academic integrity and protecting the originality of scholarly work.
