الملخص

Nature tourism is a crucial sector in developing sustainable destinations, including the Kebun Raya Jompie in Parepare City, which serve both conservation and recreational purposes. This study aims to analyze public perceptions of the tourist appeal of the Kebun Raya Jompie through four key tourism elements: attraction, accessibility, amenities, and ancillary services. The method used was qualitative research with a descriptive approach, through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the management and the surrounding community. The results indicate that the public has a positive perception of the natural attractions, including diverse flora and green open spaces, strategic accessibility, and supporting facilities that enhance visitor comfort, despite limitations in maintenance. Furthermore, additional services, such as tour guides, are considered to enrich the educational experience. These findings confirm that public perception plays a crucial role in supporting the development strategy of the Kebun Raya Jompie as a natural tourism destination that serves not only as a recreational space but also as a medium for conservation and environmental education.
