Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the impact of coconut shell carving games on improving the gross motor skills of children in group B1 at Kuncup Sorumba Kindergarten, Langgea Village, Ranomeeto District. The method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR), which adopted the two-cycle model of Kemmis and McTaggart, consisting of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Each cycle included three meetings. This study used observation, documentation, and assessment sheets for data collection. The results showed that coconut shell carving games for children in group B1 significantly imptoved gross motor balance skills, with more than 80% of participants classified as Proficient and Competent, thus meeting the criteria for research success. Pre-action results showed that gross motor balance skills only developed by 18.75% in cycle I, the completion rate reached 50%, while in cycle II it inreased to 87.50%. This shows that coconut shell carving games significantly improve chlidren’s gross motor balance skills, as evidenced by the 80% indication rate achieved. This study suggests that educators utilize coconut shell carving games to improve children’s gross motor balance skills.
