Abstract

Assessment in early childhood education must reflect the child’s overall potential. The application of the Multiple Intelligences (MI) approach is essential to identify children’s uniqueness and learning styles, so that assessment is not limited to academic aspects alone. This study aims to analyze the Multiple Intelligences assessment instruments implemented at PAUD IT Misbahul Ikhlas Beurabung, Kabupaten Aceh Besar. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using interviews, observations, and documentation techniques. Data were obtained from the principal and teachers directly involved in the assessment process and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. The results show that PAUD IT Misbahul Ikhlas has implemented MI-based assessment through anecdotal records, developmental checklists, portfolios, descriptive report cards, and weekly communication books. Assessments are carried out continuously from daily to semester evaluations, although they remain manual and face challenges related to time and administration. Nevertheless, this assessment effectively captures children’s holistic potential and strengthens communication between teachers and parents. It can be concluded that MI-based assessment helps teachers understand each child’s uniqueness and enhances the quality of child-centered learning. The novelty of this study lies in its examination of the practical implementation of MI instruments in an Islamic integrated early childhood institution and its recommendation for developing adaptive digital assessment tools.
