2018: The idea of Inspiring: English Education Journal was initiated by the English Education Department at IAIN Parepare to provide a platform for lecturers, researchers, students, teachers, and practitioners to publish scholarly work in English language teaching, learning, and applied linguistics. The journal was officially established and published its first volume and issue in 2018.

2019: Inspiring transitioned to an online platform using the Open Journal Systems (OJS), broadening its accessibility and visibility to the wider academic community. The journal adopted a biannual publication schedule, publishing issues in March and September each year.

2020: The journal obtained its official online ISSN (2721-2130), complementing its print ISSN (2620-8350), and began assigning DOIs (Digital Object Identifiers) through Crossref to ensure the permanence and traceability of its publications.

2021–2022: Inspiring was indexed in major academic databases such as Google Scholar, GARUDA, and Moraref, expanding its readership and citation visibility. During this period, the journal strengthened its editorial management and peer-review processes to align with national and international publication standards.

2022: Inspiring: English Education Journal achieved a significant milestone by being accredited as a SINTA 4 national journal by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. This accreditation applied retroactively starting from Volume 1 Number 1 (2018) and affirmed the journal’s quality and contribution to English language education research in Indonesia.

2023: The journal further improved its quality by revising its article template and enhancing its editorial policies to support rigorous peer-review and scholarly communication practices. The editorial team also intensified preparations for international indexing.

2025: Inspiring also strengthened its institutional and academic collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with APSPBI (Asosiasi Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Indonesia). This collaboration aims to expand scholarly networks, improve the quality of publications, and encourage research dissemination at the national and international levels.

2025 (September): Inspiring: English Education Journal reached an important milestone by being indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), a recognition that significantly increased its international visibility and credibility as a high-quality open-access journal.
