Kuriositas: Media Komunikasi Sosial dan Keagamaan is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record. In cases where errors, ethical issues, or research misconduct are identified after publication, the journal follows the principles and best practice guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in handling corrections, retractions, and related editorial actions.

Corrections

A correction may be issued when an article contains errors that do not invalidate the overall findings or conclusions of the work. These may include, but are not limited to, typographical errors, factual inaccuracies, author affiliation errors, or citation mistakes.

Corrections will be published as a separate notice linked to the original article. The original article will remain accessible, with a clear indication that a correction has been issued.

Retractions

A retraction may be issued in the following circumstances:

  • Evidence of plagiarism, data fabrication, or data falsification

  • Serious methodological or analytical errors that invalidate the research findings

  • Redundant or duplicate publication

  • Unethical research practices, including violations involving human or animal subjects

  • Undisclosed conflicts of interest that significantly affect the interpretation of the work

Retractions are issued to correct the scholarly record and do not imply misconduct by the authors unless explicitly stated.

A retracted article will remain accessible on the journal website for the purpose of maintaining the scholarly record, but it will be clearly marked as Retracted, and a retraction notice explaining the reason for retraction will be published and linked to the original article.

Expressions of Concern

In cases where potential issues are under investigation but conclusive evidence is not yet available, the journal may issue an Expression of Concern. This notice will alert readers to possible problems while the investigation is ongoing.

Editorial Responsibility

Decisions regarding corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern are made by the Editorial Board, in consultation with reviewers, authors, and, where appropriate, the publisher.

Authors are expected to cooperate fully in investigations related to corrections or retractions. Readers and institutions are encouraged to notify the editors of any concerns regarding published articles.

Transparency and Indexing

All correction and retraction notices will be:

  • Clearly labeled and freely accessible

  • Linked to the original article

  • Indexed and included in metadata updates where applicable

This policy ensures transparency, accountability, and the long-term credibility of Kuriositas as a scholarly journal
